Our lab is proud to announce that our paper “MOTION++: A Unified System for Complete Exterior 3D Inspection of a Vehicle” has been published at the 6th International Conference in Electronic Engineering & Information Technology (EEITE 2025), held in Chania, Greece (June 4–6, 2025).
Summary:
MOTION++ introduces a next-generation framework for vehicle inspection and defect detection, combining 3D Gaussian Splatting with RGB-D data fusion to achieve high-fidelity reconstructions beyond the limitations of traditional Structure from Motion (SfM) methods. At the core of the system is MotBox, a real-time processing unit that manages edge–cloud collaboration to ensure efficient, low-latency inspection. MOTION++ not only improves accuracy by generating novel perspectives of vehicles but also integrates advanced filtering to reduce false positives and minimize manual checks. Through aerOS Meta-OS, the framework dynamically balances workloads between edge and cloud, enabling scalable, resource-efficient inspection pipelines.
