New Paper Published at EEITE 2025

Our lab is proud to announce that our paper “A Comparative Assesment of Lidar Slam Accuracy Using TLS Data” has been published at the 6th International Conference in Electronic Engineering & Information Technology (EEITE 2025), held in Chania, Greece (June 4–6, 2025).

Summary:

This paper presents a comparative study of several open-source LiDAR-based SLAM algorithms in outdoor environments. To assess performance, each algorithm’s results were benchmarked against ground truth point clouds acquired by a high-accuracy Terrestrial Laser Scanner (TLS). While most previous research has emphasized SLAM’s role in navigation, this work focuses on its accuracy and robustness for high-quality 3D reconstruction. The study highlights the strengths and limitations of different SLAM approaches, offering valuable insights for advancing mapping and modeling applications in real-world settings.
