The open-source software MPT (Matlab Photogrammetric Toolbox) was originally developed as a tool for the introductory Photogrammetry course in the Department. In this context, emphasis has been placed primarily on fundamental photogrammetric procedures. Students can work with one or two images at a time and perform single-view measurements of points, lines, and polylines.
Different methods are used to determine the exterior orientation:
Detailed results are presented, including the standard error of the adjustment, the residuals, the covariance matrix of the estimated parameters, and the correlations. Individual observations can optionally be excluded to study their effect on the solution.
For fully oriented image pairs (stereo pairs), 3D reconstruction is possible. The final model can be viewed in a 3D display window and exported in DXF format. Additionally, 2D projective transformations are supported, allowing for the correction of vector data or the re-creation of rectified digital images.
